Atlas of Ungulate Migration

Dr Grant Hopcraft, chairman of the society’s scientific committee, alongside 80 international scientists, has launched the Atlas of Ungulate Migration, a cutting-edge digital tool that maps the movement of 20 global ungulates. This atlas, driven by data, provides up-to-date information that can guide efforts in conservation planning, infrastructure development, and policy decisions.

Users can explore migration patterns for species like the Wildebeest, with visual indicators of corridor importance. The atlas provides detailed descriptions of their migration routes and the threats they face. New migrations are being added every month as the data comes available.

This resource will be a valuable asset for our symposium in January, where we will bring together scientists, leading conservation professionals, community leaders, and tourist operators to address challenges and discuss potential improvements to conserve these migrations and other issues.
